About Me:
After about forty years of writing business manuals and reports in customer service and managerial positions. I completed a freelance writing course that led to the fulfillment of a dream to write; since completing the course, I have worked as a professional writer. a published poet and co-authored a book about living with chronic illness titled ‘After the Diagnosis: The Journey Beyond”, with two Maximum Life Coaches; it is due to be released on December 1, 2008.

At present I am the creator and columnist for a complimentary on line monthly newsletter for children with special needs, chronic illness and learning challenges. Every month, I am lucky enough to have Variety Village send me the biography and picture of one of their “Heroes”. These are children that have outstanding achievements in spite of their condition. I am also working on a complimentary eBook of resources for their parents; part-one to be released in November, 2008 and a children’s book in the near future.

Besides working as a freelance writer, I still try find the time for two other passions of mine they are to volunteer as a literacy tutor for my local Learning Centre, and to assist in facilitating workshops on disability awareness;.

My main mission is to write books for and about young adults and children who have learning challenges and chronic illnesses. There is so much out there for healthy children, I feel that to provide interesting books for children confined to home or bed is really needed.

I am an associate member of CANSCAIP Canadian Society of Children's Authors, Illustrators and Performers

Hi, Sylvia.

I'm new to the network and was reading your profile today. That's wonderful how the Lord is using you to reach out to children who have chronic illness. I'm excited about the upcoming book you are co-authoring, too! Please let me know when it comes out.

I'm a Christian life coach with a passion for helping others be the person God created them to be. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to work with children, teens, and adults of all ages and from all walks of life- both as a nurse and through community ministry. But I have always had a special place in my heart for working with kids.

Today my focus is changing somewhat (or maybe broadening), as I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and Myofascial Pain Complex five years ago. While I can not actively pursue many of the ministry activities I once could, God has shown me there is still much I can do. I want to help others who suffer from chronic illness and pain lead more fulfilling, confident lives and to encourage them that God still has a special purpose for us. Having a chronic illness doesn't change that.

I'm happy to have found your page here on the network. And I hope to get to know you better. Take care now, until later...

May God bless you abundantly!

There are so many books for active healthy children, my main goal is to provide stories for and about children who have chronic illness and are confined to bed or a wheel chair.
