Welcome to my little niche here in the IDCH Ministry Network! I'm glad you're here!

Profile Information

Profession:
Christian Life Coach & Facilitator
Web site:
http://www.tlfm.org
About Me:
Throughout the past seventeen years I've often worked in the healthcare community (until my illness no longer permitted), offering nursing care to children, adults, elders and individuals from all walks of life. In addition, God has allowed me opportunities for Christian ministry through directing community-based programs and by offering Biblical and supportive counseling, teaching, and life coaching to those in need.

From my own personal experience, I have learned firsthand about hardship. Through living with chronic illness and pain, battling depression, overcoming divorce, the challenges of parenting, caring for mentally ill family members, and many other life lessons, God has taught me more about His great love for humanity. I believe, through these experiences, He has allowed me greater insight into understanding and helping others become all He created them to be- even in the face of seemingly insurmountable odds.
What I hope to gain from this network...
Living with the daily effects of chronic illness and pain, I can be more empathetic to the brothers and sisters God has called me to serve. In 2002 I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and Myofascial Pain Complex and the symptoms I have experienced can be quite debilitating. But I am learning that God's grace is truly sufficient and that those whom He calls, He equips- even those with chronic illness!

I look forward to learning from, sharing and interacting with other members of this network so that, together, we might better serve those to whom God has called us to minister.
Best Recommended Resource and Why
The Bible- because it is, from cover to cover, the story of God's unfailing love and faithfulness to the human children He has created. It reveals to us Jesus Christ, His Son- who is our Intercessor to God the Father. As we read Christ's story, we begin to understand the deep compassion, heart-felt love, and ever-abiding grace extended to us from our Father-God. And we find peace and comfort in knowing that Jesus understands our suffering and lovingly offers us hope and help in our time of need.
Have you heard of Rest Ministries or HopeKeepers?
Yes! I have discovered many valuable resources, articles, devotionals and other helpful materials there. God is, no doubt, using Rest Ministries in a mighty way! God bless you, Lisa.

Dear Angela, It was great to hear from you, and I love that Lamentations verse as well. Chronic illnesss is such a minute by minute battle of the mind, isn't it? I find that Satan often attacks me in thoughts of feeling useless, hopeless, powerless, etc.. and tempts me to just "give up". In the past I had often have struggled with suicidal thoughts, although since I have been a Christian it hasn't ever gotten THAT bad. What does happen is that I get longing for heaven so desperately that I feel desperate to be there. It's like a spiritual craving. I heard a great qoute that said, "I may not know the mind of God, but I know His heart, and that's enough." I love that. I also am clinging to the scripture about being surrounded by a great cloud of witnesses. So often I am alone, and my dreams/desires for my life continue to go unfulfilled, so I question whether I really DO hear the voice/will of God for my life. BUt when I think of that "great cloud of witnesses" it helps me to remember that My idea of being a "successful" Christian and God's ideas are worlds apart, and He is watching me always. Ultilmately, if my heart is continually looking to HIm, it is His responsibility to get me where He wants me. I can't figure Him out, and I don't have to! What a relief!!! I hope that you are keeping your chin up today, and I will definitely continue to keep you in my prayers :0) Sandra

Dear Angela,
I was touched by your notes and wonder how you are meeting all the challenges that you seem to encounter. I confess that I struggle with my emotions and have to lay them (and often my attitudes) at the foot of the cross minute by minute at times. Thinking on the things that are noble, just, true...and of good report can be a full-time affair!
Looking forward to hearing from you, Sandra

Hi Angela, another person in pain with the name "Angel"! I'm sorry about the website thing, ran out of funds recently and am trying desperately to get things back on track. You can write t me at dennikinch@yahoo.com if you like. I can send you a lot about my "Walks" and what I've learned about living with chronic pain from all walks of life on my year long journey. Truly awe inspiring and amazing! I now exist only to help people live happily and productive and my sole purpose has become taming the monster, for myself and anyone who wants to also. This requires the person in pain to truly want to commit to the journey and "Take their Walk", whatever that is. If you know of anyone who could use some motivation or inpiration, I am here for them always. Keep up he good work and please, be in touch. -d
