I am a Christian author and speaker focusing on health, wellness, spirituality, prayer and faith. I have multiple, serious chronic illnesses, including lupus, cardiovascular disease, asthma, and thrombocytopenia, so I'm defnitely "walking the walk." My most recent book is, "Peace in the Storm: Meditations on Chronic Pain & Illness," and I've also written, "The FIrst Year: Hypothyroidism" (new revised edition will be published Sept. 28, 2007) and co-authored with a rheumatologist, "Taking Charge of Lupus: How to Manage the Disease and Make the Most of Your Life." In addition, I'm a syndicated columnist, writing the biweekly "Living Well," which focuses on faith and health, and have published many other articles in the U.S. and abroad. I speak at medical venues and faith-based venues about living with chronic pain & illness, too. This year, for example, I spoke at the Crystal Cathedral's Care & Kindness Conference and was also featured on the Hallmark Channel's "New Morning" program in a segment that focused on living well with chronic pain & illness.
What I hope to gain from this network...
I look forward to networking with others who combine health ministries and a faith focus. And I hope that I can be a resource for others, too!
Best Recommended Resource and Why
Actually, although this may sound like "shameless self-promotion," my book, "Peace in the Storm: Meditations on Chronic Pain & Illness," is a resource I go to often. I started writing it as a series of prayers and meditations because, due to my lupus brain fog, I was forgetting what I was praying for! Over time, my scribblings turned into the book -- a true gift from God! I also frequently refer people to Rest Ministries, both for the fellowship it offers and for the information.
Have you heard of Rest Ministries or HopeKeepers?
Yes! And I look forward to working more with RM and Lisa C. in the future!

I just wanted to take a moment to welcome you to the network. I recently discovered this network during one of my visits to the Rest Ministries website and was very happy to become a member. I looked forward to meeting and interacting with others who share a common calling and I am happy to have discovered your profile and website here recently, as well.
I had the chance to listen to your radio interview on Blog Talk Radio today and I was really inspired. Thank you for sharing yourself, your talents and your passion with others. It is evident that God has His hand upon your life and upon the ministry He has called you to. I am looking forward to reading your book, Peace In The Storm, as I, too, suffer from chronic illness and daily fatigue and pain.
I have recently made a career transition into Christian life coaching. For many years, I have been ministering to others through Biblical counseling and teaching. But my livelyhood has always come from working as a nurse. When I found myself unable to continue down that path, I began praying that God would provide a way by which I could continue to serve Him with my talents and abilities, while earning a modest living and managing my illness at the same time. I believe He led me to life coaching. While I am still in the early stages of growing my practice, it is my hope to be able to offer help and comfort to others through various channels and to serve God with my life's work.
I am encouraged and inspired by friends, like yourself, who are living their lives, passionately committed to God's calling, inspite of chronic illness. Thank you so much for sharing!
God bless you,
Angela
