I currently serve as a member of our pastoral team at a non-denominational church of 3500, primarily in the areas of teaching and counseling. 8 years ago, I was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease which led me to lead a monthly Chronic Illness/Pain support group. I am the wife of an ER doctor and the mom to 4 adult children.
What I hope to gain from this network...
I hope to give and receive information and inspiration that will enable me to encourage and uplift those like myself that suffer from a chronic illness.

Thanks so much for the birthday prayers! They were answered too! This group is really wonderful. It is so encouraging to meet peopple who really "get it". There's so much that you "don't" have to say. By the way, I love your picture! It's much nicer than your 'grey one'. xo
Hi Kristy, Thank you so much for responding! I was a little nervous that no one would "answer the call" and I'd feel more fragile than ever. Silly, isn't it? How are you ever managing all the responsibilities and challenges of your life? What would you say is your greatest struggle at this point? Is there anything in particular that I can pray for you? My own emotions always seem to crash against the truth of the word lately, and I am living minute by minute trying to release MY wants and MY will into The Lord's capable hands. Also, as my birthday looms (tomorrow) I wrestle with having faith and grieving the dream of conceiving a child. Hopes/ambitions/ and what I truly felt as God's leading are colliding with my emotions and my current circumstances. I confess that at this time I'm not sure where the Lord wants me to go, and He seems so silent!
Hi Kristy! WOW am I glad I found you! I am brand new to the site and I hope to find some encouragement and new friends. I hope that you will be one. Will we talk soon?
XOXO
Sandra
