I am a former caregiver. My husband had Huntington's disease for 12 years and I cared for him in my home and in conjunction with a nursing home and Hospice. While caregiving I began writing and have written 9 books including The Twenty-Third Psalm for Caregivers and The Twenty-Third Psalm for Those Who Grieve. I began speaking around the country at conferences for those with various diseases and conditions. I am the founder of SomeOne Cares Christian Caregiver Conferences for churches who want to create and maintain a caregiver ministry and for caregivers.
I live in Hawaii with my new husband and two adult children.
What I hope to gain from this network...
I'd love to network, to find out the needs of those both giving and receiving care, and to make friends.
Best Recommended Resource and Why
I am terribly biased, of course, but I think SomeOne Cares is a great resource! Learn more by visiting htp://www.someonecaresonline,com.
Have you heard of Rest Ministries or HopeKeepers?
Yes, great resources.

I visited your website and was so inspired by what you are doing! Got to read some of the exerpts from your Twenty-Third Psalm book series, too. I was touched and encouraged, to say the least. Wow- what wonderful stuff! Praise the LORD for the way He is undoubtedly using your ministry to reach out to caregivers and others!
I'm so glad to be a new member of this great network. I hope we can interact with one another in blessed ways.
I'm new to this network, just thought I'd say Hi and thanks for being here!
I've been to your site Carmen - Wow! Your experience is powerful and your message is inspiring. God sure has worked magic in empowering you to spread the word that caregivers are need support too! Fantastic!
I'm very impressed with your extensitve speaking exerience. I'm doing that as well but am hoping that the Lord has more in store for me in their area.
I get so jazzed by the energy and authenticity of people that I speak to. His presence is just so paliable.
Anyway, if you have time, I'd love to hear from you.
Till next time, take self-care seriously and God bless.
