I'm with you, Gail. There's lots of books I want to buy, and the local library certainly doesn't have them! The doctors bills take priority. I don't have many friends with chronic illnesses, so I can't borrow books from them, either. Thanks, Jeff ...

Profile Information

Profession:
I am a Survivor, or should I say Thriver (I was recently promoted, though I jump ship sometimes)...I am on disability, but involve myself with volunteer work and ministry work.
About Me:
I am living with Systemic Lupus (SLE). I have had multiple organ involvement. I must be on varying types and amounts of Steriods and Chemo drugs, and a multitude of other fun stuff. I also have secondary fibromyalgia, and other chronic health issues. Mainly, I am just always tired and in pain, and yes, still not better (I think a lot of people have finally! stopped asking me Am I better yet?)
But I am way more than all that. But it is all a big part of who I am.
Depending on the day you catch me, I may seem like this, or like that, but to know the real me is to speak to me on many days, for I can be quite multi-faceted, though aren't we all?
What I hope to gain from this network...
I am trying to form a Chronic Illness/Chronic Pain ministry and HopeKeeper small group in Austin, TX.
Separately, I also already currently faciliate a support network (secular in nature) specifically for individuals living with Lupus in the Austin area, and beyond.
I am looking for ways to better do these things.
Have you heard of Rest Ministries or HopeKeepers?
Yes, that is how I got here.

But then at the very end, right as I was leaving the Pizza Place, I met this young woman at the Merge get together who is living with chronic illness, who is not part of any small group for that very reason she said, but tries to occasionally go to a Mer
